expanding disability ministry
across the church

We are growing behind the scenes – add your church to our waitlist!

A New Initiative from

Beyond the Pew is your gateway to transforming every corner of church life through intentional, Christ-centered disability ministry. Launching in January 2026, this video-based learning platform offers churches a flexible, easy-to-use path for equipping leaders and volunteers in every area beyond the sanctuary—from greeting and children’s ministry to youth, women’s, men’s, seniors’, and more.

With a wide range of courses and topics—including adapted teaching and behavior supports—churches can choose self-paced training or pair it with individualized coaching for deeper implementation. As churches engage and grow, they’ll earn leveled certifications that recognize their commitment to welcoming and discipling every member of the body of Christ.

What would it take for your church to disciple 100% of your people—not just those who can participate without support?

Exciting Things Are Happening Behind the Scenes!

Training

We’re working hard behind the scenes to develop comprehensive, accessible trainings designed to equip every church—no matter its size or resources—to welcome, disciple, and enfold kids, teens, and adults impacted by disability. Our goal is to take the guesswork out of disability ministry, providing practical, biblical guidance that integrates seamlessly into every aspect of church life. Whether you’re just starting or looking to deepen your church’s commitment to inclusion, our training will help you take the next step with confidence.

Training Courses to include:

  • Getting Started in Disability Ministry
  • Discipleship for Kids, Teens, and Adults Impacted by Disability
  • Gospel-Centered, Positive Behavior Supports for Kids and Teens
  • Profession of Faith
  • Adapted Teaching
  • Church Staff Training
  • Elder and Deacon Training

And MANY MORE!

Coaching

Disability ministry isn’t one-size-fits-all—and that’s where our 1:1 virtual coaching comes in. Through our eLearning platform, we help churches take theology and disability ministry skills they are learning, and apply them in their unique context. Whether you’re just getting started in disability ministry or are wanting to strengthen and grow existing supports to church-wide, our coaching program provides personalized guidance to help your church welcome and disciple every member well. Coaching can be accessed alongside our trainings or as a stand-alone resource.

We currently have a growing waitlist, but as spots open up, we’ll reach out to give your church the opportunity to get started. If your church has an urgent need, please email us at connect@engagingdisability.org, and we’d be more than happy to come alongside you right away. We’re here to help!

Certification

We know that building a strong disability ministry takes time and dedication, and we want to recognize and celebrate the hard work your church is doing to grow in welcoming and discipling individuals and families impacted by disability. That’s why we’re creating a certification program that focuses on growth. This program will work hand-in-hand with our training modules and individual coaching sessions. Upon completion of training modules, we will award leveled certification which can be used in print materials within the church and on your website.

Our certification levels serve as a winsome and realistic representation of your church’s growth, helping visitors and members alike see that your church is committed to supporting the discipleship of kids, teens, and adults with disabilities. As you take steps forward, these markers will help communicate the ways your church is making space for every member of the body of Christ.
Beyond the Pew is a training and coaching initiative of Engaging Disability With The Gospel, designed to equip churches to disciple every member of the body, beyond the sanctuary. With roots in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), we provide coaching services to the broader Reformed community. We also publish uniquely reformed, adapted Bible resources that support the discipleship of people of all abilities.
